Slots Winner grabs $14.3m Jackpot – Donates It to Charity

robin-hood-of-slotsFor most people, winning a $14.3 million slots jackpot would mean lavish cars, a huge mansion and unforgettable vacations. But for a slots player who recently won this amount in Las Vegas, the $14.3 million has simply provided a way for him to give back to charity.

The man, whose name hasn’t been released, was playing Megabucks slots at Vegas’ Rampart Casino. After spending just $20 over a five-minute span, the mystery man hit a jackpot worth $14,282,544.

Giving few details on himself, the guy only discussed his plans to donate almost all the winnings, while taking the rest of the money and building a new church for his religious group. Currently, they’re holding services in a high school gymnasium because they don’t have enough money for a building.

The only way anybody will be able to identify this true Robin Hood of slots is from his picture (above). Jennifer Smith, a spokesperson for Rampart City, said that the player is in his late 50s and doesn’t gamble very often. However, he made an exception this time because he and a friend were visiting Sin City.

The only one who offered a quote in the matter was the casino’s manager, Michael Gaughan, who took this opportunity to pump up his gaming establishment. “We pay large jackpots all the time, and just today we are paying $14 million to a lucky local,” said Gaughan. “We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting jackpot. It doesn’t get any better than this.”

It doesn’t get any better for the charitable causes who’ll be benefiting from this man’s generosity either. Many people have this stereotype of gamblers being degenerates that only care about their betting fix. However, this stereotype is far from the truth, as the most-recent Robin Hood of slots shows.
