""Japan may not offer any true slot machines right now. But they do have a Nutella slot machine that’s drawing a lot of interest.

Rather than paying players in cash, this game delivers payouts in the form of Nutella toast. The toppings are determined by the results.

Keep reading to find out more on this game along with the unique prizes that it offers.

What Is the Nutella Slot Machine?

Many regular slot machines feature common symbols that spin on the reels, such as diamonds, cherries, dollar signs, and numbers.

But the Nutella slot machine, which is featured at Japan’s Grand Front Osaka mall, features symbols that revolve around different ingredients.

This game’s three spinning reels show bread, various toppings, and Nutella. Player always win a piece of Nutella toast, but the toppings depend upon their spin result.

There are 20 potential toppings available, including coconut, sliced banana, and chopped pistachio.

If you’re ever in Japan and interested in playing this game, note that you can do so at the Grand Front Osaka mall between the hours of 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Also keep in mind that this is only a limited promotion that runs until late November.

Is This an Appropriate Promotion for Nutella?

A major brand like Nutella can draw heat any time that they offer a gambling themed promotion. Therefore, it’s worth asking if their Nutella slot machine will receive any criticism.

I haven’t seen any gambling advocacy groups bashing the promotion as of yet. But this is always a possibility, considering that McDonald’s was recently chastised for their Super Mario slot machine.

Of course, Japan has strict laws against casino gambling. The Land of The Rising Sun only recently legalized casino gaming, which will be available within the next several years.

As long as the government doesn’t see a problem with players spinning the reels for Nutella toast, then this promotion seems perfectly fine.
