Ben Vuong, a Saskatchewan native, hit this massive payout on December 30th, guaranteeing himself a great New Year’s. The Dakota Dunes regular was playing “Smoke Signals” when he won a $1,166,462 payout. According to Gary Daniels, general manager of Dakota Dunes, the casino workers were glad for the lucky winner.<\/p>\n

“Many of our workers are super happy,” Daniels told CBC News<\/a>. “They tell me the winner is a very nice gentleman who always has a smile. We’re glad we have given him even more to smile about.”<\/p>\n

This progressive jackpot starts at $1 million and grows until it reaches $2 million. Since Vuong won the top prize, the jackpot will be reset to $1 million.<\/p>\n

\"dakota-dunes-casino\"<\/a>This isn’t the only big slots prize that’s been won recently. An anonymous Detroit woman hit a $2 million payout just two weeks ago while playing at Greektown Casino. Much like Vuong, the woman was a regular at Greektown before winning a life-changing slots prize. She was playing Wheel of Fortune slot, which offers one of the biggest linked progressive jackpots in the United States.<\/p>\n

Another interesting aspect of this story is that the $2,005,393 payout is the largest in Detroit history, which is pretty impressive considering that the city features three big casinos.<\/p>\n

The Detroit winner and Vuong are the last to hit seven-figure slots jackpots to close out 2015. But you can be sure that we’ll see plenty more big winners in 2016 – both at land-based and online casinos. <\/p>\n
