NJ Online Slots Player Wins $194k Jackpot on First Spin

An online slots player from New Jersey experienced the ultimate case of beginner’s luck, winning a $194,000 jackpot on his first spin in years.

Anibal Lopes of Woodbridge, New Jersey had quit playing internet slots prior to this month. But he changed that by creating an account at playsugerhouse.com through his smartphone.

He began playing a game called Divine Fortune and won the Mega Jackpot on the first spin.

“I Don’t Feel Well – My Legs are Shaking”

Lopes didn’t quite know how to feel about his windfall, because he hadn’t played online slots in so long.

“I thought, ‘This is not happening,’ ” he said. “I couldn’t believe I won that much money.”

Lopes told his wife: “‘I don’t feel well. My legs are shaking.’ She said, ‘We need to get you to the emergency room.’”

“I told her, ‘No, I’m not sick; I just won close to $194,000!’”

Lopes told Time.com that he’d played other online casino games in the past. But he stopped for years, until recently playing online slots again.

The construction company superintendent wants his newfound wealth to pay bills, make house repairs, and save funds for his 6-year-old son’s future.

He did not say if he intends to continue playing online slots. But I can only imagine that he’ll be excited about doing so in the near future.

Lopes Won through New Jersey’s Regulated Online Gaming Market

The Sugar House website that Lopes won his money through is affiliated with Atlantic City’s Golden Nugget casino.

New Jersey is one of the few US states that offers regulated online gaming. The other states that do so include Delaware, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. The latter has yet to launch their internet gaming market.

The remaining 46 American states are unregulated, with many of these being served by offshore online casinos.
