Nevada Online Slots – Will They Ever Come?

Nevada features a regulated internet gaming market that, currently, only includes poker. However, Nevada online slots are missing from the equation right now.

Politicians in the Silver State decided to leave slots out of the mix when legalizing gaming. Now, they only rely on online poker to bring the state revenue with regard to internet gambling.

Many states earn the bulk of online gambling revenue through slots. That said, I’m going to discuss if Nevada will ever consider legalizing this type of gaming.

This State Has a Regulated Gaming Market

The Silver State was at the forefront of the online gambling movement. It became the first state to legalize any form of internet gaming after approving poker.

This landmark decision has since inspired other states to legalize the activity. Again, though, no Nevada online slots exist to this day.

People can enjoy regulated online poker all they want within the state’s borders. But they don’t have the legal right to play any type of internet casino game in NV.

Nevada Online Slots Were Left Out of the Mix

Nevada has boasted a thriving casino gambling industry for years. It offers hundreds of casinos that collectively bring in $12 billion in revenue each year.

These land-based casinos have a big voice within the state. Most of the establishments voiced the opinion that they’re not in favor of widespread online gaming.

They’re perfectly fine with internet poker sites. However, they don’t want to lose potential customers or gambling dollars to websites.

Will State Gaming Regulators Ever Change Their Minds?

Many states are enjoying plenty of revenue from online casinos. They’ve found that internet gaming has little impact on their land-based casinos’ bottom line.

Therefore, Nevada may eventually decide to approve internet casino games too. But for now, no legal online slots exist within the state.
