Vegas Slots Player Hits $1.2 Million on Wheel of Fortune

wheel-of-fortune-slotsA Las Vegas visitor has became the latest person to get rich through slots, winning $1.2 million on the Wheel of Fortune slot machine. They were playing at Vegas’ New York-New York casino at the time of the windfall.

According to IGT, which developed Wheel of Fortune two decades ago, this is the second person to win a seven-figure prize on the game in 2017.

As reported by the Las Vegas Sun, the other person collected a $1.05 million payout at MGM Grand on Jan. 14.

As for the current winner, neither IGT nor MGM Resorts – owner of New York-New York – offered any additional details. IGT spokeswoman Michelle Schenk said that their slot players have the option to remain anonymous if they want to. It’s common to take advantage of this option, given that big winners don’t want people hounding them for money afterward.

In its 20+ years of existence, Wheel of Fortune has become legendary for how many millionaires it’s created. Based on the TV game show of the same name, Wheel of Fortune has paid out $3 billion in jackpots and featured more than 1,000 millionaires.

Just recently, we reported on an online slots player who won £3.8 million ($4.7 million) through Loot’enKhamun slots. This person also chose to remain anonymous, but they did comment on how happy they were with the win.

“I am in complete shock at the moment,” the man said. “I haven’t really thought about what to do with the money but most definitely I will be buying a house.”

2017 is off to a hot start as far as slots millionaires in both land-based and online casinos. It’ll be interesting to see if this good karma continues for players.
