A teacher from the Western Isles of Scotland has become the latest big online slots winner after hitting a $3.56 million (£2.5m) jackpot.
The single mom really warmed up her Valentine’s Day after hitting the giant prize on a $3.50 bet. The winner will remain anonymous, but she did speak a little to the press following her big payout.
“It is all still so surreal,” she said. “You obviously play these games, hoping to win a couple of quid (dollars), not a couple of million. I’m still stunned.”
Rather than immediately thinking of new cars and a bigger house, the anonymous winner says that she wants a dishwasher and kitchen extension.
“I was washing the dishes this morning and thought to myself…no matter how much money you have, you still have to wash the dishes,” she said. “I might get a kitchen extension so I can fit the dishwasher.”
The teacher is currently on half-term break from teaching and will use this time to decide what else she wants to do with the money.
“I’m glad I have the half-term off to get my head around it,” she said. “I’m going to be sensible and take my time deciding what to do.”
The one splurge that the mother does have on her list is a trip to Disneyland for her and her seven-year-old son. But beyond this, it doesn’t sound like she’s going to be blowing the rest of her winnings any time soon.
This is actually the first big online slots win of 2016. In case you’re wondering, the all-time record for an online slots jackpot is €17,879,645, which was won just over four months ago by a British soldier named Jon Heywood.
